This week we kicked off our October theme “H2-Uh Oh!”, and as you can probably tell by the title, it’s all about water. We learned about water in different states (solid, liquid, gas), molecules, drinking water quality, and more. We did experiments to change salt water into drinking water, observe water changing states, and the difference in water molecules compared to other liquids- like rubbing alcohol for example.
We also met Ms. Jackson- a guidance counselor from Millville Senior High School. We did a bullying prevention activity focused on name-calling.

We’re looking forward to Club 21 this afternoon as every Club 21 student will start their own blog to reflect on what they’re learning and share with family and friends. Also, we’re going to hook up the Wii, set up a few STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) centers, and maybe even play our favorite gym game of the week- “Pin Dodgeball”.
Just a few reminders for parents and guardians:
- There must be an adult (over age 18) present to meet Club 21 students at their bus stops even if the stop is right in front of their household. The only way a student may get off the bus without an adult escort is if their parent or guardian signs a special form. If there is no adult at the bus stop, we will bring the student back to Bacon, and they will need to be picked up immediately.
- We will send permission slips for our first field trip home next week. We are going to sail on the A.J. Meerwald on October 16th. We will return to Bacon at 6:30 pm, and there will not be a late bus. All students must be picked up from Bacon at 6:30 pm.
- Also next week, we will send home the ‘Parent Entrance Survey’. Please, complete this survey and return it immediately. We want to make the most of Club 21, and we need your input and support.
- If you pick your child up before we board the bus, you must show a photo id. This is for your child’s safety, and we appreciate your cooperation.
