We're starting week 3 of Club 21 today, and we've been having a blast so far! Don't forget, there is no school (and no club) for students this Friday, 10/9, and next Monday, 10/12. Enjoy the 4 day weekend!
Last week, we had our first Maker Monday. We're going to set up a makeshift makerspace every Monday, and Club 21 learners will complete projects and challenges and basically just make stuff. Makerspaces, sometimes also referred to as hackerspaces, hackspaces, and fablabs, are creative, DIY spaces where people can gather to create, invent, and learn.
Also during week 2 we constructed Lego homes, created our own comic strips, designed and built Lego boats that could float in water and bridges that could hold weight, put together Lego mosaics, and more. One of our favorite days of the week is Freestyle Friday. We pick our top 3 activities and get to choose what we do for the day. We're looking forward to what week 3 has in store!
